Poverty Level is based on Gross Pay, not Net Pay (after all of your deductions) 23k/yr?

But if you are paying out Over $100 a week on Insurance/Taxes/deductions you've got to re-evaluate your w-2 and your insurance. Because you are talking 25% of your pay that is way out of whack.

Of course, if you just stopped buying clothes for other people you'd be doing better. ;)

Well, my point being simply, that she is making a decent living. And she is making a lot more then a lot of people and to complain about it by saying she is making below the poverty line (While getting Benefits, and having a car) is a skewed view of the world.

A 10% Raise is a good raise. $1/hr raise is an Extra $2K/year.

It beats the $0.15 that I can give out.

With the exception of a couple of people in our group of friends, people have problems with money. And with proper budgetting can live quite comfortable with what they are making now.

Not that I have ever lived outside of m parents' house in Seattle, so I can't really acurately talk of the cost of living, but I do know people in the Seattle area who make minimum wage and manage to live on their own, so I would tell the people who are telling you to quit to shut up. The pay isn't that bad at all, and if you enjoy what you do, and are having a good time learning, I say that job satisfaction is worth way more than quiting and getting payed a little bit more at a job that you hate.
