Yep, they're from the latest issue. I also want to try the recipe for the spoon cookies made with brown butter in that issue. The lady claims they're the best cookies ever. Must investigate.

ahh, vermont... i love it there
i'm always a little weary about spending the night at home alone. i mean, i love having the whole bed to myself, but i live in crackville, so it can be a little sketchy. i especially don't like it when the girls who live upstairs aren't home, and the landlord who stays downstairs is home in another city. being all alone in that big house can be really creepy.
but i wouldn't worry too much about ghosts, because if your kitty doesn't freak out, neither should you!
as for the other fear, that's why i want a big dog...

My cat did freak out last night!! She was hunkered in the basement, which she usually only does when there is lighting/thunder. And I could not get her to come upstairs!! Very odd. She was strangely on edge, staring at nothing with her ears pressed back. Somehow I made it through the night!!
It would definitely be comforting to get a big dog. I'm more scared of crazy people than ghosts. You would laugh if you could have seen me sleeping with a big knife by my bed!!! I'm so dramatic!
