can anyone tell me why my DVD player shows the captions even though i have them turned off? with every DVD i have?

it happened the last time we rented a movie, and we thought it was some fluke with the disc. i guess its not.

Hey Jenn.

Should be a simple fix. Go into your menu settings, should be like under 'SUB' or 'CAPTIONS' or something. You probably have the close-caption (the hearing impaired thing) turned on. If it's not that, the english subtitles may have been turned on too. Just turn it off. You can usually do it right from the remote.

By the way-how the hell are you? :)

Well, try checking your users' manual. Then go online to see if you can find any FAQs from the manufacturer. More often than not, you'll find a fix there.

Don't like to hear you're not doing well. That sucks. Cat & I miss you....
