Hmmm. Edward made such a big deal about his aversion to Bella becoming a vampire in previous novels. I get that he wanted to save her life. But what happened to all that stuff about her soul being damned? I can't see him being so selfish as to "damn her soul" (the way he sees it) just so he can hold onto her a little longer. I honestly think he would rather let her die (and die himself) unless he had some sort of reassurance her soul would remain in tact. That's why I wrote Spiral Static the way I did -- with Alice giving a vision to Edward of Bella's soul. I don't think he would do it otherwise. If anyone seemed OOC to me in BD, it was definitely Edward. So that's what I would write differently.

OMG!! You read my mind about the soul issue! I had mentioned that before. It was such a central theme in the previous books and it all but disappeared in this one. That was very odd to me.

And your vision that Alice showed Edward was absolutely perfect!!!! I do hope you write more soon.

Well I'm not even creative enough to think of how i would have wrote BD differently so I'll leave it to you brillant writers like E and Coquette!! And even you Jen, you could so do it too!!!!!

That one attempt I DID make that time was purely driven from somewhere deep inside. I don't know if I could get that serious about any other subject, if you KWIM.

Well, first up I would nix the baby, because really, what the hell?

No baby would also mean there needs to be some sort of dealing with Jacob, though I wouldn't resurrect the love triangle. Maybe just a big fight between him and Edward. Yeah, that would be awesome!

I would also make Bella struggle more with being a newborn. Not that I'm naturally a cruel person or anything, but it seems like that's something she signed up for when she asked Edward to bite her, and she got to skip over that stage entirely. Plus it would be an excuse for Edward to angst, and I can never get enough of that.

The fun part about fanfic is that I'll probably get an opportunity to write my own Breaking Dawn. I've got it all plotted out already and just need to finish off some of my other projects before I can start.
