Fabrique Fantastique!

My fabric came today and I'm absolutely THRILLED with it. I'm always worried when I order things sight, unseen, but I'm in love with this. The color is amazing and unique and the drape is perfect. This dress is going to ROCK!

Here's a picture.... )

OK, that's awesome. What kind of dress is it for?

Thanks!! I posted a picture and babble about the dress day before yesterday. I think this should be the link:

I'm trying to make a dress for a party next weekend. I may or may not get it finished, since it took so long to get the fabric in. But either way, I'm going to do it.

:)

Thank you so much. I've been missing a lot of posts, too. My watched page seems to be chock full of posts in the communities, and then ironically I miss the posts from individuals. Argh!

Hope you're doing well. I read you've been working out. I'm so bad...I don't do squat. I really need to get into yoga. I'm getting waddles under my arms. LOL

Hee he...thank you! It dazzled me, too. I can't wait to get the dress done. I might end up pulling an all-nighter like I was known to do back in the day, because I can't wait to get it finished.

Wow. I envy people who can sew. I swear, it takes me about 10 minutes to fix a button and then it's all lumpy. My grandmother was an amazing seamstress but I never picked up on it. Clumsy fingers.

LOL! I love that icon. *snickers*

Yeah, it's so sad that it's a lost art. I think in the past a lot of people did it out of necessity, and they probably thought of it as a chore. And now we live in the world of instant gratification, so we don't want to spend time "working" on something that's readily accessible at the store.

I just get tired of seeing the same old stuff in ready to wear. (Now, if I could afford the top floor at Neimans I'd be in heaven! LOL)Plus, it's fun to see the look on people's faces when you tell them you made it. LOL

Hey sweetie! Thanks!!!!! I'm actually working on it a lot today. I'm hoping to get the bodice done today at least. I've been working on fitting the muslin just right. I'm actually a bit nervous to cut the actual fabric...LOL!!!

I might not be on the forum today much, but this is where I'll be - nose down at the sewing machine! ♥

Hey..how's your uncle?
