Thanks! I can't wait to get it done. It takes a while to get the exact idea in my head, and when I finally do, I'm giddy with excitement.
Hopefully, I'll have a muslin done by the end of the weekend. It's a bit slow-going right now with the kids home all week. I'm ready for spring break to be O.V.E.R.!! LOL
So this fabric has a brownish background. It looks a bit like a linen weave, although it's all silk. Then, the flowers are silver lame and look applique'd on. I'm thinking some muted shoes would be best. What do you think?
That's a great fabric - I'm sure it'll look awesome :D.
Did you check out DaFont for fonts? That's my favourite site for fonts because you can put in specific letters/words and see how the font will actually look in the letters/words you want to use it for. If you want to go with the hand-drawn, though, have you thought about getting Illustrator rather than Photoshop? It has less photo applications but far more drawing/creating options. If you get a tablet as well you could just draw your logo straight in :).
Ooooh! Hey...that's a great idea. Okay, is it called "Illustrator" and is it by the Adobe people? And what is this tablet thing?
You are so smart! I had a feeling you'd know!!!
Hey...what's your status on the movie? Are you going to get a copy? Y'all have to wait longer, don't you? I was going to offer to pick one up for you, too, unless it's the wrong region player. Let me know. I'm happy to do it. :)
I think we get our DVDs on April 4th - we get a completely different set of extras, which is cool. So far I've avoided all the leaked extras except for Rob playing the piano and the vampire kiss montage - did not have the willpower to not click those, lol.
It's Adobe Illustrator and like Photoshop there are different versions - I think I have CS2. I've only just started to learn how to use it - it's a massively complex programme, but even the most basic things look really impressive. A tablet is like a big finger pad and you draw on it with an electronic pen - takes a while to get used to, but it has some awesome applications for design.
goodness I wish I had your talent! Your going to look gorgeous BB ♥♥
.... If we were close by I would have loved to take you with me shopping for wedding dresses... you seem to know what your doing! ♥ and you have incredible taste!
Oh, thank you so much!!! And I would have LOVED to go shopping with you! Have you been doing that yet? It's soooooo fun! I loved that part of the whole engagement process. I felt like such a princess. *sigh*
Uh oh...well, tell your sister to take it slow. And remember, like I said, tell her "Good idea, I'll keep that in mind." LOL It's a very sneaky yet diplomatic way of getting people off your back. *snickers*
It's so nice to hear how much your family loves him. That's truly a blessing.
I can't wait to hear about dress shopping! Do you have any styles in mind? I learned not to discount anything till I tried it on. What I ended up picking was nothing like what I originally had in mind. LOL
I will take pictures. I'm really in love with the one-shouldered look right now. This will be really fun to do.
Thanks for the compliment on the label monogram. I'm going to put my name in small block letters under it, and under that, put "fait a main" ("made by hand in french"). What do you think? (I need to make sure that's the right way to phrase that. It's been many years since french class! LOL)
OH...BTW...have you noticed the harem pants are really in style right now? I keep seeing them in the magazines and I always think of you and your belly dancing costume! (Is that right? Or are harem pants a different thing altogether? LOL D'oh!)
Label design sounds great. I like the 'made in hand' detail too!
Harem pants are in? Wow! They might be the same, I'm not sure. Ours are really baggy. Not MC Hammer pants, but close, lol. I think tradition says that Belly Dancers wore their harem pants under a skirt, but modern dancers have gotten away from that a little. We wear them just as solo pieces too. Both ways are fun. It's always fun to layer costume pieces because you get to show off more, lol.
I like the ones that are tie-dyed, but there's no way I could pull it off. LOL It would be cute on someone about...oh, 15 years younger. LOL
Thanks about the label. I have really been wanting to do that for so long. I'd love to get into custom designs for people, or selling my things on etsy. My good friend even offered to be my rep and take my things to boutiques. LOL We'll see about that.....

Yay shoes! It's fun to have a specific dress/outfit to find shoes for; it's like a game!

Those programs sound a bit beyond my abilities. I mean, if they are complicated for you, I'd be in tears within 5 minutes, I'm sure! LOL
Sarah (Sarahscloset) offered to tinker with it for me since she's a graphic designer. She said she has both of those programs, too! I'm in awe. LOL
