I liked the way you summarized Wright’s intention - to challenge, recreate and touch the psyche of her audience. I’m intrigued by your assertion of what a “poet is supposed to do” and what a poet’s purpose is. It reminded me of Shelley’s idea that poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world. The poem that Jenni_Beans (http://jennibeans.livejournal.com/) wrote about was "Bora's Ring" although not my personal favourite I did feel that it captured the sense of feeling that belongs to the Indigenous people. The connection Jenni makes to Will Thornhill also helps me to connect this to other texts. Your own spin on this, "Outside of the Bora Ring" is fantastic!!! I see the extent of Judith Wright's poetic influence your writing which is enlightening. Great work! I love the way you have observed Wright's critical thinking and courage. Thanks for sharing this work with us.
