That is really cool, using a canonball to make mustard. Surreally lovely.
I went to Camden today and saw clothing that looked a bit Gothic Lolita sweet pink version whatever it's called your daughter might like. Also Portobello Market is really cool and easier to get to if you're staying near Paddington as it is on the 7 bus route (stops outside Paddington) and doesn't take long from there. But I think Portobello Market is only exciting on Saturdays. And a bit on Fridays.
It's fun to grind mustard, it takes a while to crush the seeds thoroughly, then you add water little by little. It makes your eyes water though, but that's half the fun!
Thanks for the info abt places to shop... how long does it take to get an overview of the shops in Camden? Is a morning enough, or do we need more time? Hard to say, I know, it depends how much you browse! I'm not much of a shopaholic myself though.
On the off chance you're serious about the question, I'm quite certain you're fine. Ammunition for the purpose of airport safety would be more like a bullet which contains both the projectile (the "bullet" itself) as well as the explosive gun powder. If you're packing a plastic bag of gunpowder to go with the solid chunk of metal you'd have problems, but just a big chunk of metal I wouldn't worry in the least.
...Except of course adding a few pounds to your bag limit. :)
Yes, I am serious about the question.... it struck me as I was checking the luggage rules in preparation for my trip... there are a number of restrictions, including a ban on wedding cakes as hold luggage:
"for security reasons, wedding cakes are not allowed to fly"
Errrr.... right.
Anyway, this is the bit that had me scratching my head:
Not permitted in either hold or hand luggage: "Handguns, automatic weapons, munitions, ammunitions including blank cartridges, pistol caps", etc etc....
Well, I shall wrap my ... "Scandinavian pestle" up very safely and securely and put it in a sturdy cardboard box in my suitcase.
Along with some pickled herrings. Just pickled, not the fermented variety. There's a risk of the tin exploding in-flight, if you try to take fermented ones.
