OK, so it's been my birthday, and I had a very nice break in London. Saw "Phantom" and "Love Never Dies", did a lot of walking, had fish and chips, and sushi at Yo Sushi

Yes, we got to Camden, but made slow progress as people kept wanting to take photos of her, all dressed up as she was. She liked London, and was happy to find so much Hello Kitty stuff everywhere. One day husband and I left her at the hotel with her computer and walked through Hyde Park, St James' Park to the National Portrait Gallery.... I've always wanted to see the originals of all those pictures you see in history books, of Elizabeth I and all the rest.... I get a weird timewarp kind of feeling when I see things I've read about, that come from the past. Dunno if that made sense, but never mind.... it was good, anyway. Was amazed by the portrait of Charles II - that he allowed it! He looked SO dissipated, incredibly worn and tired.
Glad to hear that you're in a clean and cosy place now, so you can enjoy the fruits of your labour ;-) and don't have to rush off just as you've finished!
Ah, today we tackle the bedroom, tomorrow we go! Just as the sun has come out!
You should take your daughter to Tokyo and she could stand with te Lolita girls by the park, where they go on Sundays and tourists take photos! It is so funny. I think it is so sweet that Japanese teenagers do that rather than drugs or alcohol or vandalism - they just dress up and look sweetly cool!
I love the National Portrait Gallery. I have been thinking it is years since I've been. Those Tudor-Elizabethan whatever pictures are amazing, they have so much detail. I don't remember the Charles II one, though. My history is very patcy at best, too! When I was 11-14 my brother and I and two friends who were broher and sister used to go for days out at the National Portrait Gallery. We loved it there. I suppose we were very sweet teenagers, too, looking at paintings instead of getting drunk or anything scary!
Oh wow, that is just so good of you! Don't forget to fold the end of the toilet paper in a little point, like they do in hotels!!! Do you think she'd notice???
Yes, my daughter would LOVE to go to Japan, I've told her to start saving up.... it's a long expensive trip. Perhaps we could go in a couple of years time.... but I wonder if she'd still be a sweet Lolita by then! This is a pic with her and a tiny girl from Singapore (in Marks & Spencers) ... cuteness overload.... http://sugarydreams.bilddagboken.se/p/show.html?id=486485244

Did you manage to get to Camden? Did your daughter like London?
We are still away at Christine's, which is now a cosy, tidy place.
