In an effort to keep me on my toes...

...my five year old now has five staples in his head. It's really too bad that we don't realize what we put our parents through until we have kids of our own.

ETA: or until we're grown up ourselves, because you don't necessarily need to birth a child to realize how much you terrorized your parents as a kid.

OMG what happened?!?!?

*hugs you*

How terrifying that had to be for you. If you're writing about it, I'm assuming he's doing okay....

Oh yeah, he's fine. He and his brother and sister were playing out back and my older son jumped off of a fence stake and somehow it either flipped up or they fell and it hit Nate on the side of his head.

We had two screaming and hysterical kids (older son and step-daughter) with a bloody Nate trailing behind. My husband stayed back (he'd pass out...really ;) ) and I took care of it. I don't get too squeamish so I was fine. I took a couple of minutes to hug the kids and tell them that no, their brother wasn't going to die and it was just an accident and he was just fine.

And he is fine. And I'm buying into the Aflac policy at my new work just because of this kid. One broken wrist and five staples and I know this is just the beginning for him.

*hugs*

Oh, he's just fine now thank you. I think he took it better than his brother and sister who were with him ;)
