How I ran a marathon

Feb 17, 2012 11:25

I've got a couple of metaphorical marathons going on in my life right now. I'm trying to finish my adult romance by March 1, and the first pass of Such a Rush is due back to the publisher on March 6. This is the first time I've seen the text as it will actually look in the finished book, and y'all, the design is SO PRETTY.

Congrats on completing the marathon! An amazing achievement. Thank you for sharing, love marathon stories. They are always so unique-reminds me of people's childbirth stories actually, LOL! Under 5 hours is totally respectable by the way! I am currently training for a half but it is not until September and I am already freaking out ( ... )

I agree with you here. If you looked around at the marathon finishers, they did come in all shapes and sizes.

I also agree that marathon stories are a lot like childbirth stories! I've had the conversation with several people that maybe running a marathon is like giving birth--you forget the pain or you would never do it again. I NEVER forgot the pain of childbirth, but I have to say I am kind of looking back on the marathon now and wondering what the big deal was. (Then I remember that side cramp and think, oh, yeah.)

Good luck on your half! As long as you stick to your training plan, of course you will do great!

You go, girl!

My son-in-law loves to run. But he was running so much his body started fighting back and the doctor told him to cut it in half.

So be sure you have check ups and let them know of any consistent pain.

Love,

Carla

This is so amazing! I'm part of a wellness group and we have runners of all shapes and sizes. Yeah, I'm only up to running a mile without stopping but that is a victory for me. It's annoying that people assume your fitness level based on your looks but at least you can take comfort in the fact that you will outlast them when the zombie apocalypse comes.

This is really inspiring. I've been thinking about trying the Couch to 5K because I need to lose some weight and just get healthier and it seemed like a good regime. Obviously running does work and yay you!! If i ever see you in person I'm totally going to mention how much you look like a runner (who enjoys pasta so yay!)
