Been too long since I spoke to many of you. And sorry for constantly not replying to messages and not actually being there when it says I'm online on Windows Live, I suck.
Omg what a shitload of FAIL on your doctor's level.
My Godsister has the same thing, actually. She completely dropped out of school. She's still suffering and her condition's more severe. She couldn't even walk, she was, like, crawling around the house. It was (she's better now, but still just spends most of her time at home)very depressing.
Don't worry yourself too much about your schooling. Concentrate on health. Things that seem like fuckups, school and career-wise, have a way of sorting themselves. Sometimes, something better comes of it :)
Agh, your poor godsister :( It must be horrible for her to have to cope with such severe symptoms as that. I'm glad to hear she's slowly getting better but it's a long recovery time... I hope she'll be able to go back to school and pick up where she left off :(
wow SO much fail on the doctor's side. i'm glad that you finally have a diagnosis because if you can stick a nametag on it, at least you know what you're dealing with and what you can/cannot do and where your limits are physically. i'm sorry you had to go through such a long process in finding out what it was :( and i'm so sorry you had to drop french. i'm wondering though -- in holland, if you drop a course/stop a course, you can consider it temporary stop and continue the course at another university (which is the only option because your uni is closing the languages department). don't your ects count at all?
i can imagine that this decision must be hard for you to go through with at this point but gurl i am a strong believer of everything happening for a reason. it'll be ok, it's just a little setback that you'll work through. challenges in life only come to people who have the capacity to tackle them properly so consider yourself strong :)
Yeah girl, finally having a diagnosis has made life so much easier. There's a label for it now so I no longer feel like I'm being a wuss/making excuses when I say, "I can't do this ___" so I've stopped pushing myself and making things worse.
Last I looked, transferring to another university meant resitting the subject from the very beginning here :( Ofc, that might be different for me personally given that it's not my fault I can no longer take the course. I might complete the French half-award another time but for now I feel comfortable with English :)
DANG I had no idea, I hope you recover nig :(((((((((((( and do your best if you can, so schoolwork comes out ok.
The "french one year in another country" you can always do later, plus you'd totally enjoy the experience much more in good health. Education will always be there for you at other universities, lotta peeps be doing school shit when they 70+ years old here in Toronto.
Hmm I had a friend who got mono in university, similar symptoms. Chinese homeopathy helped bring her out fast - have you tried it? She couldn't recover for months until she took a roommate's meds to make her all chipper and active again. I can try asking what she took, but it was so long ago that she probably doesn't know.
Ty nig, if all else fails I am going to get a uni degree damn it. I have a part-time job atm that I will quit if my schedule becomes too much when term starts... Less money would suck but all that means is cutting back on Sky and take-out!
Many people at my university - actually, most on my course - were in their late 20s/30s so it's always a possibility. Any degree is fine by me atm, I'm sure I'll love English as much as I enjoyed French, but I would love the experience sometime whether as part of a uni education or not.
Funny enough, my boss at work suggested Chinese remedies - it's not something I've looked into yet 'cause I've been waiting for the hospital to get back to me (I only found out a few days ago it'd take 18 weeks, ugh) and been hoping on that. Gotta be worth a try ^^'
:E :E :E :E :E nig, I had no idea! Glad you're fine now, that must've been heeell to worry about... Agh agh agh :((( So glad you went to see many doctors for different opinions though - even if some were nuts, you definitely cannot rely on just one...
Ty for the sweet words nig, hope you're keeping well <333
So sorry to hear this Jen, but you must be so relieved that you have a proper diagnosis! Your fb posts would have never let on that you had something so serious going on in your life. I'll be sending positive vibes you way.
