The media is ignoring the fact that the troops didn't feel their equipment was in working order. Wolf Blitzer was making it sound like the troops were scared to go on a convoy rather than talking about how crappy their vehicles are. I hate the media.
"The soldiers refused an order on Wednesday to go to Taji, Iraq - north of Baghdad - because their vehicles were considered "deadlined" or extremely unsafe, said Patricia McCook of Jackson, wife of Sgt. Larry O. McCook."
Huh? I'm confused. I was pointing how CNN is trying to make these people look like they're cowards. I realize that this article illustrates the point of their equipment not being anywhere near the standards the Army has, but that point was almost completely ignored during the report I saw on tv. I guess I should've said I hate big-time television media, so that my point would come out clearer?
I don't know how much relevance this has on the story, it's just a nice little piece of info. Back before the Persian Gulf war, the Air Force would run convoys on its on. Either during the Persian Gulf war, or right after it, the Air Force started relying on the Army to help with convoys. Well, that's changed within the past year. The Air Force is now fully in charge of their own convoys (which usually carry supplies for the troops). Apparently, the Air Force didn't like the way the Army handled the convoys.
