I did a google search for ‘gay fantasy’, wondering what all the books were out there. There’s a good number, but ‘all’ might be a relative term.

Of course the Nightrunner Series pops up, along with Mercedes Lackey’s Magic books, and Sarah Monette’s harrowingly interesting ( Read more... )

There are publishers who will publish LGBT, on paper as well as ebooks, without all the boinking but they aren't the Big Six. Etopia Press publishes fantasy, especially dark fantasy. I recently read one of theirs called Dirge for a Necromancer that had m/m encounters but never 'on screen'. That's well over 400 pages too. The big drawback is that you have to do all your own marketing.

Doing all my own marketing is pretty much par for the course as it is right now ;p Silver is staffed by nice folks, and their contract is exemplary, but it's a bit of a puppy mill.

I'll look into them. Thank you.

Two things. Thing 1 - I'm going to finish the end of the story shortly, and have comments to make over the last bits and structure etc...Mostly I think I basically want you to add about 10,000 words, which may not make me very popular...

Thing 2 - it won't necessarily make you any money, unfortunately, but OTOH I *do* know a decent literary publisher which does m/m. manifoldpress are worth keeping in mind if you have no luck with bigger places (though you should do because it's a bloody good story).

Oh, I know. Somehow I've lost about 10k words somewhere in amongst all the previous versions. I know what is missing, so I can re-write it... It's just going to be painful. LOL. Somewhere in the last five years, and two computers, some things got lost. (And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost... ;)

I will keep that in mind if/when the time comes.

And thank you (:
