My grubby hands have landed on something good, and boy am I glad that it's really good, for the end of 2007. Let's hope that 2008 will be about 40% less sucky because I think I need some improvement in my overall lifestyle (work, home, etc.) No work news here, work sucks ass ten gazillion times so I shan't bother whining about it today.
w-inds. Live Tour 2007 "Journey"
1) This tour is like all the rest of their tours.
2) The backstsge isn't necessarily more interesting than the previous years.
3) I'm a biased KeiRyo fangirl so you'll see plenty of KeiRyo references inside here. Do not expect an unbiased report from me.
Okay, to say the truth, I've only watched both the concert and the backstage documentary ONCE, so I need to go watch it another 982634781 times and then decide if I lovelovelove it or lovelovehate it. At the moment, I'm pretty pleased with it, am 5250yen poorer and thank goodness for colleagues who bum off the Japan every now and then hohohoho.
I think with the change in their music style (it's gone a bit darker, smoother, more suave and elegant) their stage direction changed as well. Obviously, everyone's dancing skills improved yet again, not just my boy's this time, and Keita has finally found a style which suited him. I think the new dance style he picked up, I cannot remember the name, sorry, suits his current frame (this boy is getting kind of heavy on top) and image. It speak of power, really power, strength in limbs, and yet there's a touch of... roughness. Ryu-kun's style is still pretty much whatever made him happy, and then there's the guitar headbanging bits which I love him for. And yes, Ryohei, my boy, he persists in being the prettiest of the three despite having enough facial growth to put my toothbrush to shame.
There was an interesting observation from my older sister (the one married to a Japanese) while I was watching the concert. I think it was around the 3rd or 4th song, when they were wearing the white jackets (and Keita had various hats on for the earlier half of the concert). She suddenly went, "Oh, I see. Each of them has a different style." I went "Huh" at her, and then she continued. "The one in the middle is the feminine one, the one on the right (Ryohei) is the funky one and the one on the left (Ryuichi) is the hip-hop style."
It was SO FUNNY because even my sister, who doesn't really know the boys, can tell that Keita is a girl at heart. *shot dead*
She also told me to try and go for their concert, even if it's during summer. (I'm heat intolerant.) I can try and go to the Sapporo lives, where it's cooler and then I can bum at her place in between. It's sounds like a VERY GOOD IDEA to me and I wonder why the hell I never thought of that before.
Okay, back to the concert.
Keita spent about half the concert being unreadable due to his hats and I have this feeling that he took quite a few looks at Ryohei since the shadow casted from the brim of his hat covered his eyes. He's grown real sexy, though, so I don't quite mind as much hohoho. Ryohei is beautiful. His complexion is still... mm, the best. Oh yah, Keita's hormones are finally kicking in or something but he's pretty much spotty for most of the tour. Ryu-kun's a little darker, but he's still the same too.
One thing I noticed is that Ryohei can be so focused when doing his dance routines, he barely notices some of the looks Keita gives him. And I noticed that because of the camera angles. There are a couple of camera shots from the right side of the stage, and then you can see Keita facing that camera, yes, before he looks to his left and smiles at Ryohei. The boys had a tendency to take the --__-- or __--__ formation because Keita is taller than the other two and to the fans facing them, there will be some sort of depth to them. They almost never stand in a straight line. And probably also, well, to avoid hitting each other with their flailing hands and legs or something. XD
I don't have many other comments for the concert, except that it should be watched, and my boy is still as gorgeous as ever, and Keita spent about 30% of the stage time exchanging looks with my boy. *glee* I absolutely LOVE their performance of メセエージ. It was absolutely heartwrenching and Keita looked like he was going to cry any moment. Hayama-san is the best, yes.
Documentary-wise, hmmn, it's not as fun as the previous concerts, but you can see that they're quite tired for some parts of the tour. As usual, Ryu-kun wanders off and does his own stuff most of the time. And in the trip to Sapporo (from Tokyo), Keita and Ryohei took the flight there without Ryuichi. The amount of time Keita and Ryohei spend together is starting to get rather unbelievable. I think my boys are insanely beautiful together and I like them just the way they are now.
This post is going to be entirely, totally, and shamelessly KeiRyo from this point onwards.
Due to the concert, I had the urge to 1) fic 2) catch up on the Japanese BBS 3) trowl the net for KeiRyo fics once more. I did a bit of the first, and most of the second, and a bit of the third too. Suffice to say, not too much happened in the last few months while I was being distracted by 2-D men, but some things did happen, yes. Let me list them briefly below:
1) Combini sightings
Keita and Ryohei's regular prowls to the combinis in Keita's area have become something SO FAMOUS, the combini store people blog about it. It has gotten to the point where even the combini staff (non-KeiRyo or w-inds. fan) has decided that they are unhealthily close and Ryohei always stays over at Keita's place on the weekends. And Keita always foots the bill. Don't forget that we're talking about Japan, the land of 別々.
2) Keita's superhuman ability to answer Ryohei's questions for him
Which happens almost all the time. Which can be freaky if we do not already know they are actually really, secretly dating each other. WHY would Keita know what kind of underwear Ryohei wears? Okay, maybe he spied that when Ryohei changes backstage. And what movies Ryohei has been watching recently? There's the smell of a rat around here somewhere.
3) I am the Cameron Diaz to your Justin Timberlake
When Keita was touted as the Justin Timberlake of Japan (I have no idea where the hell they got that impression from) Ryohei's response is that he wants to be Cameron Diaz. This is kinda weird, because yes, we all know that Ryohei likes Cameron Diaz (ideal girlfriend material) but there was no talk about him wanting to BE Cameron Diaz. This boy is having some serious issues, man. That, aside from the fact that Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz used to be dating at one point of time.
4) 07.06.25 ムーブ「イケメン塾」
Ryohei didn't do well for his DJ performance during their first live so the company decided that he shouldn't perform anymore. Keita went to the president and asked that he let Ryohei continue to try.
Host: Were (you) happy then?
Ryohei: (I was) very surprised. *looks as if he suddenly recalled the matter* (He's) really a good guy.
Keita: *looking smug* It's already Shrek.
Ryuichi: Bonded by love and togetherness.
Keita: Love? *shock for a moment*
Ryohei & Keita: There's no love!
Ryuichi: Have I said it? *looks at the two of them* I love you?
Keita and Ryohei: ...
Host: *pointing at the two of them* Why are the two of you ignoring him?
In addition, when Keita was describing the incident, he said "and then he cried..." He looked as if he lifted his hand to pat Ryohei on the shoulder but settled for slapping his own thigh instead. Although the way he spoke of the matter during the interview sounded like he was really polite about requesting to the president to let Ryohei continue trying, the host later feedback that Keita spoke to the president in a rather demanding/rude manner. He got really angry when he saw Ryohei crying, and thus went over to speak to the president. The host also said that this is probably the rashness of a teenager, yes.
(The above information is all translated from BBS.)
It sounds as if my boy's been either oblivious or he's extremely good at acting. And that Keita has been caring, since a long time ago. And that is something to chew on, really, because yes we all know that Keita is a good guy but I'm not so sure about the always caring bit because I've seen ocassions where he's less than caring. He's a very polite fellow, yes. But there are times where he looks SO COLD, I feel that there's more to him than what meets the eye.
