It is so hot. My apartment has been around 90 degrees for the last few days. Thankfully it's not so humid that if I lay very very still it's not too uncomfortable. The Master is basically Moriarty. I could tell you that and you'd probably be able to fill in the rest on your own just based on that one idea. But since lord only knows what's coming in the next two eps (and since I won't, in all likelihood, get to see them until the 2nd or 3rd and thus won't be able to answer questions), lemme give you a bit more to go on.
By various accounts, the Master and the Doctor were friends at the Time Lord Academy. Obviously, they took rather different paths afterwards. Some folks believe that they're brothers, but there's absolutely no concrete evidence either way. Some of the books (which I've not read so I can't give you details) say that the Master originally went by the name Koschei. I've never heard that on TV, either, so I believe it's up for debate.
In any case, he first made his appearance during the Pertwee era, played by Roger Delgado, and is your basic power-hungry megalomaniac, almost always thwarted by the good Doc, but occasionally, they are ( ... )
