i finally figured out what the "soiled toilet paper" smell is. (in my office, as i sit here, it swirls all around me whenever the wind blows .... YUCK ITS GROSS.) i realized that there's probably a dead animal outside my window. and so i look and lo and behold, there is a carcass on my lawn. like a squirrel with no hair on its tail. like a rat-

Also, a temp fix, throw hydralated lime (called just "lime") on it. The "lime" can be found at any gardening place-its what people put on their lawns to "sweeten" it. Its like a few bucks for a massive bag-very cheap. It is not bad for the environment-just crushed limestone. But historcally it is also used to stop oders of decaying bodies and compost heaps.
Or --brave it-- and bury the guy...hold.your.breath.
