I actually have a really hard time with the cringing kind of humor so I avoided The Office (both versions) for a long time, despite my love of Steve Carell from his Daily Show days. A friend finally convinced me to try the US version and I like it (though in fact I fast-forward through or mute the most cringe-worthy parts).

I've watched a few clips of the British version, but without a preexisting attachment to one of the actors, I doubt I'll ever watch a lot of it. And that has nothing to do with the silly "British vs US" arguments that spring up on youtube bits for either show. I want to tell them, "You know, liking one TV show over another does not have to be a judgment on the place the show started!" But I doubt it would do any good.

Anyway, that's a very long way of saying I'm glad you've come around a bit to the US version, just because I enjoy it and think quite a few people had preconceived notions about it, based on the UK one, that may or may not have been fair.
