Werewolf Remus Lupin, convicted twelve years ago of being the right-hand-man of You-Know-Who and murdering countless innocent victims, has broken out of his maximum-security cell in Azkaban prison. As Azkaban is the highest-security jail in the known Wizarding world, located on an unplottable island and guarded by Dementors, the news of his breakout is a harsh scare to many. It is an unprecedented feat, and many are speculating that he had had the aid of You-Know-Who. However, while the rumours continue to fly, the Ministry is denying any involvement of You-Know-Who in this matter, claiming that Lupin must have found a way via the Dark Arts to escape.
Lupin, a werewolf, is famed for his involvement in the Dark Arts, and is said to have been second in command to You-Know-Who when He was in power. He was also accused of betraying the Potters, parents of the Boy-Who-Lived Harry Potter, to You-Know-Who, and involved in their deaths, as well as the deaths of a dozen innocent victims after, and late war hero Peter Pettigrew. The demise of You-Know-Who is thought to have caused him great mental anguish and turned him insane, as he was found on the streets laughing like a maniac, even when he was apprehended and arrested.
“Lupin is a dangerous creature, and any news or sightings of him should be reported immediately to the Ministry of Magic,” Minister Cornelius Fudge says. “Even the Muggle public has been warned about him, that’s how serious a threat he poses. We must all be on the lookout.”
