wow livejournal. i just LOVE your fucking pop-up ads now that come up at random in the middle of trying to read things over the entire page which then becomes obscured from view. WAY TO GO.

yes yes i know I can get rid of these ads by having a paid account. GREAT TACTIC for increasing usability and maintaining customer loyalty.

Pop up ads? Maybe my browser is blocking them but I don't see them and I sure don't have a paid acct.

It just started recently, but I wonder if its because I switched from Firefox to Flock.

Yeah, I don't see any ads at all with FireFox & the NoScript add-on. I don't have a paid account either. In fact, I didn't even know there were pop-ups until you mentioned it here!

Its a video ad for one of those horrid Best Buy Xmas commercials. I just noticed them within the past week or two...

Are you guys on Facebook per chance? I tend to do everything over there nowadays anyway.

Yeah, I adblock with Firefox. I don't see almost any ads anywhere. Granted I'm a perm user on LiveJournal. Just wish more people used it. Facebook isn't really all that nice for hearing about how people are doing, it's more for minor updates.

As a perm member, I think I have some sorta "coupons" I can give away to anyone that wants to be a paid account. I know that's not what you're looking for, but I figured I'd throw it out anyhow.

I had to quit MySpace not so much for the real ads, but the horrible layouts of my friends. Tons of videos that would auto-start (I finally figured out how to block all the videos - but part of the POINT of MySpace was videos).
