The digging of the grave for the same number of men was probably just as much of a calculated cruelty as it was a matter of efficiency and using manpower availible. Very scary.

The 1st SS Panzer Division (Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler Division) was the second most decorated German division of the entire war. Tough hombre's to say the least.
