Went to see Woody Allen's latest last night ...While I've loved most of Woody Allen's movies, this one isn't one of my favorites. I didn't hate it, there were many things I enjoyed, but being the kind of romantic I am, I had so wished for a different ending. I didn't want her to choose the safe / monotonous route. Don't get me wrong, I didn't want her to go off with Juan Antonio - I didn't want Vicki to go off with either men, but rather just stay in Europe and start her own life (or at least, try to figure out what she wanted that was NOT focused on fear based decisions, or on lust).
Also, I didn't buy Penelope Cruz's performance in the girl / girl scenes - she seemed hesitant and that was disappointing.
Finally, I'm not a big fan of Scarlet Johanson's acting overall - never have been.
On the plus side, I love Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz - together, their performances were great!!
