"I'm saddest for Jorge, as we probably won't be seeing him in Yankee pinstripes again."
Ooooooooh.
"It still pains me when they play against Hideki."
I've seen many players leave my Mets and play against them later. I can never support them. D: I can be gracious about it, but I can't be like "YES GO [former Met] GO." If Jose Reyes gets picked up by another team this offseason, I'm going to hang myself. ;A;
"anyone but Philly."
This. I have my favorites for now, but I don't care too much one way or another.
"So I pretty much missed the short handed hot-mess goal."
Good. It wasn't pretty. Five minutes into the game, that's how we started not just the home opener, but our season"People are already crucifying Lu
( ... )
It's not every former player, just the ones I'm super partial to(which so far is only Matsui and Posada lol). If Jorge did anything great against the Yankees, tbh I'd be like "DAMN STRAIGHT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE LET HIM GO >:[".
It's not so much people being critical, because yeah some of that was really awful; it's the people that are like "OMG TRADE HIM/WORST GOALIE EVER/LET SCHNEIDER START EVERY GAME". He won the Jennings, was a Vezina finalist and got to game 7 of the SCF. He wasn't the only one "choking", it was the whole team.
He also only played 2 preseason games, so I think he's still a bit rusty(and he normally is spotty in October anyway). If we're in mid-November and he's making mistakes like that every game, then I'll start to worry.
IDK I just can't find myself with player-loyalty. It's nice to see them again, and give them a polite round of applause if the split was amicable, but if they're not on my team, screw 'em. XD

I think he said that in one of the intermission interviews, actually (haven't been paying attention, either, so I didn't realize he was in two pre-season games, but I guess that makes sense). Everyone needs a chance to get his feet back under him, so I won't know Lu for that, and I certainly don't think he should be traded (but I wouldn't mind seeing Schneider more), but it was still disappointing. I could allow him Letang's shot, but Malkin's... that was ugly.
I feel really bad for him sometimes, he doesn't deserve all the nonsense people throw at him. But he's gonna have a great game one day -- everything will go right and perfect and it'll be, like, against Chicago (ILU CAZ) -- and everyone will love him again.
The Rangers' loss just now (in OT, not SO) reminded me of how badly some people wanted to string up Lundqvist last season, too, despite his league-leading eleven shutouts. He started 68 games. That's one shutout every other week. :|
