Follow up on the Job Transition

Nov 03, 2006 16:35

After considering the four(!!) different job offers over the last weekend, I finally selected one. My good friend in Denver, who is also a paralegal, couldn't believe I had that many offers when I did the job search without an agency. Apparently, it's fairly unheard of in the legal field for a paralegals to actually be able to choose where they ( Read more... )

Wonderful news! Both the new job AND the eye candy! We need to celebrate - would you guys want to go out for drinks sometime next week?

As an aside, would you and Kim be interested in having Thanksgiving with Ben, Beth, Brian and I?

I just posted a reply to this and it's gone. Grrr.

Yes, drinks sound great. Call and we can get together. We plan on skiing the Wednesday before and the Friday after Thanksgiving. So I'm not sure if we will be doing anything the day of, other than being really, really sore from the first day of ski season.

We're moving to a new apartment in the complex this weekend, but I'll give you a call Sunday night and see what we can throw together.

Well, that is marvelous. Family Law. I know you will be bound by this and that while cases are ongoing, but I hope you can share general ideas. It is a vastly misunderstood area.
You must be doing something well or something good. You go get 'em.

Thanks! I've been doing contract work in family law for about a year. I never would have thought I'd enjoy it as much as I do. There is a new model of practice called Collaborative Law. We work as a team to solve the issues associated with the family's new dynamic, rather than adversaries. It's really an amazing concept. I've taken attorney level training in it and really believe it is a better approach to the area. I hope it takes off in Kansas and Missouri.

Congrats! And maybe after tomorrow there will be a new family law paradigm to work in. :)

I hope so. I think one reason they want to bring me on is because I am a member of the community, it will create a welcoming environment, and I have experience in GLB family law issues.
