I really must refrain from going to the mall on Saturdays and Sundays. All the parents bring their screaming brats out and they are never controled. Yelling, running and crying!

Seriously, if I did that as a kid I'd get one icy glare from my mother and it would be ended.

(don't get me wrong. I like kids. just not many.)

Our moms just knew how to do it. We never would have dared behave.. I think my mom did it with kitkats. There were four kids, and if we behaved, she would buy one and we'd each get a piece. Now parents try to get their kids to behave by buying half the toys in the store ;)

I agree with you. Parents do not control their kids, it is simply irritating.

Yep. The rules of parenting have changed. Discipline-wise (or rather, lack thereof) not for the better.
