Deep fried pickles?! It sounds like a wondrous thing. :)

I WISH I had time to read more - but I'm like you, i stay on with books that I don't particularly like just coz I feel I need to finish, no matter how long it takes. :)

They were the really crisp, kind of vlassic-like pickles only lighlt breaded, like tempura. Really good, with a sweet chili sour cream dip. I'd certainly get them again!

I'm not sure why I have the don't drop the book until it's done habit, but I do. It's really annoying and it does a number on my wanting to read. Seriously does more harm than good.

You need to put your 2008 list up on your sidebar. I'd like to know what book is causing you so much grief. I say abandon ship! You'd shut off a bad movie, so just abandon that crappy novel!

I feel like I've invested too much in reading at least half of the damn thing, I might as well finish it.

I'm reading "the Virgin's Lover" Philipa Gregory. It's bah.

Some places do offer a 4 day work week but you normally have to put in 10+ hours in each of the 4 days. It's a trade off I guess.

Like you, I feel the need to keep reading books no matter how bad they are. I'm the same way with movies. I don't know why.

Yah, I don't think my work is going to go for that. And I'm not about 10 hours either....
