I don't know if I mentioned before but I am now the secretary in the Relief Society Presidency at our Church. The RS president used to help with the LDS 12 step program in our area. One time a few years ago when I questioned if I should let my brother come and live with me I called her. She was so level headed and gave me great advice. I

((hugs)) I keep hoping that one day your brother will see that miracle. It's so hard to watch them make wrong choices but what can you really do if they don't want to take the help? I'm thinking of you, you're a really strong woman and I look up to you.

For my sister (with similar addictions) we try not to give up on that miracle too. In the meantime, we pray for her continued health, and that she finds peace.
Ultimately I think that's what she lacks. Peace of mind.
