I've found that if I put people into custom lists, and mostly read those instead of my home feed, I partially get around the algorithm and miss fewer important posts. So for example, you and shadesong are both on my "fandom" list.

Yeah, I need to organize some lists, but damn, that takes some serious work (as opposed to LJ, which lets me drink from the fire hose).
