L is for Laura (SGA alphabet)
We’re both asked it often. So often that it boggles our minds.
“Why McKay?” and he’s asked, “Why Cadman?”
Well, that second one I can’t answer. But I can tell you why McKay.
See, I lived inside his head for a very long time. Nearly two weeks before our body decided to start shutting down. And in that time, there were long stretches where all we could do was talk.
So we did. We talked about anything and everything. Quite literally.
And I fell hard for the kind, funny man behind the brash impatience and overworking ego.
But he was in love with Katie Brown. So I decided to be a friend to him. We were put back in two bodies - the RIGHT ones, thankfully - and I became his friend.
Then Brown ripped his beating heart out of his chest. She called him not human - just because of his crystal abilities.
It devastated him.
I escorted Brown to the Daedalus personally. Then I took care of Rodney.
All I did was love him.
And somehow - he fell in love with me in return.
