I've been feeling a bit antsy today. My grandma's been in surgery to remove one of her eyes, which was pretty scary. It wasn't a life or death kind of surgery, but still, she's eighty and has had some bad reactions to anesthetics before, so we've all been a bit nervous about it. My sis, the baby and I spent the evening over at grandpa's feeding him ( Read more... )

It has been very hard. We're hopeful that it will get better now though. Waiting for grandpa to call and see if we can visit.

Thanks. Just came from grandma's and she's in the best of moods since everyone's showering her with attention. She even took off the eye patch to show us the whole big space of empty where her eye used to be. Pretty scary. Saving Lockdown for a pick me up on Sunday when my big sis leaves. :-)

Uuuh. You told me about it, but still, it sounds so scary to have one eye removed..... I hope she will recover quickly now though and be really fine soon!

She is already fine. Just doing better than anyone could have hoped for, but it seems she'll have to wait a while for the eye though...

Scary indeed. Actually, for me anything to do with surgery in the eye feels quite creepy, even lasering. So I hope your grandma is fine now. She must have had something quite serious when they remove the whole eye.

She's had eye trouble for years and hasn't been able to see out of that eye for quite some time, but now the cornea broke and suddenly it was all urgent to get the eye removed. Don't ask me why. She actually seems relieved now that it's done though. Did you get my facebook invite?

Yes, I got your facebook invitation. But I'm not registered yet, so was that an invitation to register or just to become your facebook friend? Is it good?

It's a community thing like livejournal, but with the difference that you friend people you know in real life and not complete strangers or fandom related friends. You can't even see people's profiles unless you're their friend. So I guess it's more of a real life friends thing, but it's fun and I have discovered this awesome World Traveller's challenge that I can just do over and over again that I've linked to my facebook. You should register. I quite like it. :-)
