Grapefruit?

Feb 05, 2008 18:58

My new love is grapefruits. They are awesome and one of those is like a full meal, which goes very well with my diet. And especially since I made buns today. According to my dictionary it's "Shrove Tuesday" (Really? Is that really what it's called?). And then we have cream buns with almond paste and whipped cream. I was going to show you a pic, but ( Read more... )

Oh, so that's where that comes from. I guess it's because the last day before no food, you get to eat lots of fatty food and then on the Wednesday, you can start getting rid of the bad that you just gobbled up. I also saw that you could call it Pancake Tuesday, but then again we don't have pancakes, we have these pastries instead. I guess that would make "Mardi Gras" a more accurate name for it.

I hate taking pictures. Especially in those machines. Before they actually take the picture, you have plenty of time to screw your face up all weird and you only get three shots. It is scary to think you're stuck with that picture for 10 years. Although it's not that big of a deal really, I guess. :-)

Oh, your buns surely look delicious! Did you make them all by yourself? I had planned to buy the buns and then make the filling myself, but then I was called in to work, and so we ended up with buns from the bakery. But both children liked them this year, and even Ivan finished his. Afterwards he said "mycket mätt" :-) Maybe I'll make some myself for whenever we meet next time! (would you prefer us to come to you, or you coming here, by the way?)

Those photos for the driving license are awful. I forgot makeup on mine too, and I'll have it for five more years. At least I remembered to remove my glasses, to avoid a totally out-of-date photo ten years later! 44... In ten years I'm 41. How come that sounds much more than anything with 30 sounded when I was 20? But I guess we will feel the same inside then, as we do now :-) We'll just need to remember not to look in the mirror!

Yes, I made them all by myself and they were pretty good. It's one of those things that it's really okay to buy because it's usually just as good. They're just so big if you buy them. You should come up next time and then I'll drop by yours on the 6th, if that's okay and then I can come down to yours again when I get back. I don't really know how to do with the birthdays. If we should just do them both at the same time. I haven't even started on Noomi's present yet. *sigh*

I got all excited that I could just go there and take the picture instead of taking it in one place and sending it in and blah, blah and I just rushed there, it took five minutes. It was very easy. I probably wouldn't have looked any prettier with makeup though. 44 does sound weird, but it's not really that old, and I think 34 sounded really old when I was 24. I keep forgetting though and act like a 14 year old most of the time. And I can't seem to do a thing about it. Or maybe I don't want to. :-)

It's perfectly OK if you drop by on the 6th! We will be most pleased and the children will be thrilled! I work that day, but not longer than until 3 pm, and Connie work from home so someone is here whenever you are coming. And you are most welcome when you get back too! When is that? Early April? Late March ( ... )

Yup, definitely send the pics. Color-wise it is too late, but otherwise there's still some leeway. :-) Are you getting that DVD for Ivan?

This is my grapefruit phase. In a few days I'll be onto something else. I'm just glad I found something healthy to be happy about, because usually I would gobble down chocolate or something. I shouldn't even write "chocolate". It's evil. And I love it.

Oh no, you should have made pancakes anyway. Or well, I guess since you weren't feeling well, maybe that was a good thing, actually. I guess the sentiment would be to just eat a lot. Pancakes, buns, anything to fatten up for lent. I had two of those buns. Don't tell. *shhh*
