i really like that; it's quite poetic. :)
and basically everything marcus says in katie's room, especially:
“I…I get to be the guy who helped you, that’s all. It’s an even trade.”
He was cursing himself as soon as the words passed his lips. He felt gutted, his entrails spread out for her amused inspection.
finally being a decent human, even if he's not actually saying what he should be saying. and now he knows how katie feels, though he probably doesn't realize it. there's hope for them, at least. <3

He's still talking in terms of trade, but at least he's no longer keeping the terms to himself, and he's at least THINKING about what she needs. Baby steps.

Its both funny with Ron and sad with Marcus who wants to obliviate himself.
Now we know what happens nxt, after thoses baby steps but its still a sad moment, when they are both desesperate and pessimistic because they cant have a better relationship, where they would be honnest and don't hurt each other everytime.
