marketing God to christians is easy. the christian culture jumps at anything that has any remote connection to christianity. it's how to use media to reach the unsaved that's the question.

worry not dear jen. it's not up to you to make things happen.

you're on a great path. and you're asking all the right questions. you'll do great, impactful things, even if only in the eyes of God.

I'm not as concerned with saving the world as I am just wanting to make the best use of my time on Earth to work towards something eternal. Just brainstorming, I guess. There just must be something greater than what we're used to. God will open doors if it will benefit His kingdom.

preach it sistah!

what you say about switchfoot is true. is there anything in their mainstream songs that really specifically glorify God? something to consider tho. marketing is about selling an image/stuff to people no? therefore the purpose of marketing is making money, right? well... you cant really say "God is Good" and then say "buy this product" however subtly you do it. theres that whole thing about not being able to serve two kings/masters. yeah.

I still think there's a way to serve God and be involved in marketing. I think there's a way to market God's word in a way that's true. I just don't know how yet. But there has to be. There must be a way to glorify God in every way. Everything belongs to Him.

v. tr.
To offer for sale.
To sell.

v. intr.
To deal in a market.
To buy household supplies: We marketed for a special Sunday dinner.

Is that what you tell everyone? :P

Hi, Jen, long time no talk. I'm sure you already know this, but God wouldn't give you such talent in a difficult (and ungodly in a lot of ways) field like communications if He didn't have something powerful and unique planned. If anything, I believe your talent will be used to glorify God, even in impossible circumstances.

Not everybody sells Viagra and Kelvin Klein. As a matter of fact, there are many companies in Silicon Valley sell dull product, such as state-of-the-art computer chips. You can learn the secular techniques and apply them to your future job with discretion in Christian values. The alternative is to run away from the world, no matter which profession you choose.

That's EXACTLY what I believe. I'm just trying to figure out the route that I know must exist, whether it's been done or not.
