I'm getting bigger. Some may say I've really "popped". Good. I kinda want people to stop telling me how "small" I am for how far along I am. I'm not angry, it's just that anytime anyone says "Really? You're not very big" it makes me worry that I'm too small and that my baby isn't healthy. Which I know isn't true because I was the same size for ( Read more... )

Sugar *IS* addictive! Seriously!

We have gotten into a habit of sharing an evening sweet a few times a week. It's enjoyable, but I can feel the desire creep. I stay aware of this to ensure that this treat remains an indulgence and not a daily habit, b/c I could see it spreading out to other parts of my day if I were to allow it. And heck - we all deserve a treat, just have to keep treat-time contained to acceptable instances.

But damn - those dark chocolate covered cannolis and red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing are mighty tempting to enjoy each and every day!

At about 5 everyday, i start to jones for a sweet. I have sugar in my coffee in the morning, and that satiates me. Maybe I'll have a some juice at lunch. But man, lately it's been a daily treat (mostly chocolate/baking) in the early evening. I need to stop!

I've been craving homemade cookies, myself. Haven't made that happen yet, tho!

I find grapes or watermelon satisfy my sweet-tooth when I want something sweet but don't want to indulge in refined sugars. I also add raw dark cocoa to my morning smoothie to deal with the chocolate cravings. Also, dark chocolate *is* good for you, so I don't see having that daily as a problem. We always have some good dark chocolate stashed somewhere in the house for emergencies. ;-)
