When I bought Wonder Showzen, the guy who did the transaction told me that, if I like this show, I'll love Robot Chicken, possibly even better. I hadn't heard of Robot Chicken before, so I downloaded an episode. Hilda and I watched it, and were CRAPTASTICALLY dissapointed. We've even tried watching a couple episodes on TV, and everytime we just ( Read more... )

Yes, a lot of it is low-brow toilet and ode to the nut-shot (a favourite sketch of mine) type humor. But I especially love how it captivates nearly every single childhood image, dream, nightmare, tv and movie favourite, and adds such a sick (and often humorous) twist to them.

Well, wonder showzen is all of that, plus BRILLIANT social commentary. Maybe I hated the show because I expected it to be of wonder showzen's calibre. Have you seen Wonder Showzen?

I can't say I have. But it sounds like something worth looking into. I don't have cable, so I'll have to make it a point of trying to download a few episodes.

Robot Chicken is definately not for everyone. But for my friends and I, after a really long week of 13 hour work days, crazy stresses, and a stupid amount of frustration, it's nice to be able to sit back and watch something completely brainless. Maybe that's why we also love Mystery Science Theatre so much. It's so bad it's good! ;)

ahahahahaha!!! Mystery science theatre is a childhood memory! ... And that leads me to think of weird science, hahaha.

I don't think Wonder Showzen is on cable in Canada. I watched it with a friend and got hooked on it. There are quotes from that show for EVERYTHING.

both Robot Chicken and Wonder Showzen are terrific shows and to like one and not the other doesn't make any god damn sense! :)

LOL! They both have the random absurdity down, but wonder showzen is amazingly intelligent with it's social commentary, wheras, from what i've seen of robot chicken, it's at the other end of the spectrum.

Not that that's a bad thing, a little stupid humour can be great. Maybe I just need to see better episodes....
