Naked Sushi Chauvanists

Jan 12, 2007 16:54

Take a look at this post. It's a horrible excuse for an argument, but it has raised the question of whether or not eating sushi off a woman's naked body is misogynistic ( Read more... )

Now I'm not very prominent in the women's rights or feminism fields, but a) if she was all, 'hey, yeah, I'll take off my clothes and let you put sushi on me' then what's the beef? and b) I am sorely tempted to reply to karmadusts last comment to inform her that my mom totally values the plates and the food equally, thank you, I mean we have them up on our walls!!

... but I don't think that'd help anyone, so I'll just keep my mouth shut.

HAHAHA

Actually I thought of pointing something of the sort out, more like having respect for all things and choices, including plates and being plates, haha.

"bound and gagged naked women with a group of his male chauvenist buddies"

Gagging? You can gag someone's legs?

If you want to play by her rules of "all objective mentality in the realm of sex is based directly on gender" doctrine, that colorbar is pretty damn sexist.

I also now realize that almost all of her discription of the picture is not really accurate. She isn't "naked," I can clearly see what seems to be panties. If you have panties on, you are not naked. As for gagged, come on. All you can see is her legs and tits.

Not to mention that Brad's face doesn't seem like he is having "great fun" derived from sexism. He looks... hmm... it is kind of hard to say. He seems amused by it. I can't say that I blame him.

Not to mention that the girl with the sushi on her may be, I dunno, enjoying it? I've heard that some girls even have a sex drive now. Silly women, don't they know that enjoying sex is a "man" thing?

thank you! some people need to lighten up. I'm all for feminism but some people give feminism a bad name.

Unless she was held down oat gunpoint and ate off of, then no. :/

My ex-best friend would have a field day with that topic. It's blasphemous and mysogynistic to her if someone looks at a woman strangely.

I can't stop staring at your icon. It's entrancing.

But yes, I think it's gross when old men look at women strangely, but hardly misogynistic.
