Hullo! looks like you've added me, and you also know superl99. Have we met?

I'm still a big fan of LJ after being on it for 10 years. It's friendlier and cozier and more thoughtful than other social media sites like, say, FaceBook. But you're right that not as many people are on here anymore. It sort of depends on how you use it these days. I mostly use my own LJ for personal thoughts and rants, and it's OK with me if not many people are still reading.

Communities are still good here, if you find the right ones. Seems like there is one for everything, and if you have a question about anything, LJ is a great hive-mind for finding intelligent answers quickly to things that are too complicated to google.

I have a separate journal I use for fandom stuff. Fandom communities are still *very* active on LJ, and I seem to spend more and more time as that persona and less and less on "real life" stuff.

So yeah, LJ is still great, but it depends on how you use it and what you hope to get out of it. Welcome back to the fold.
