You really working at a homeless shelter?

How's that going for you? How do you feel about social work in general? And has that changed in any way from before you worked there? It's just something that I think about a lot; most of our friends don't do things like that.

yeah, i've been working the 11pm-5am shift the last couple weeks. it's pretty tame during that time, but the interaction and incidents i've dealt with have already made an impact. i'm also taking a social work class here...just an intro, but already opening up a lot. i was actually going to make a post about all of this later in the week... and how just walking to and from class has completely changed with this new understanding--of the system and the people inside and outside of it.
