They can get married in several countries and they can have a civil partnership in Britain.

I did have quite a discussion with my friend about this. He himself is a gay man, and on the topic of Cardiff knows that they offer civil partnership but he is quite adament that although there's not really that great a difference, it is still distinctly not married. It still lacks the title, which is why I wrote it the way I did.

I do think it's a great shame though, that the world is still so unaccepting of a perfectly natural thing. It really does sadden me, especially that there is not even the offer of civil partnership here in Australia, nor can a gay couple adopt. By the time I grow up, I hope all that changes.
