Unfortunately we have not heard much of you lately. What can you tell us about your creative status?
Ah yes, creative status. Since the Athearia rpg kind of died, I've been on creative hiatus. Lani and Rhye have been writing a story back and forth with Adeste and myself lately, however, so I'm not being *completely* ignored. I did get a drawing from Rhye and one from Lani, recently as well. That was nice.
How about giving us a bit of background on you and where your story is headed, since you are an original brainchild of an original story?
Hmmm... Well, the story is about 10 years old now. It started out as a fantasy bed-time story for Rhyein's little sisters. It's been re-written and torn apart millions of times now. I originally started out as a Jareth-type character (as in Jareth from Labyrinth. You know, David Bowie's character), a real villain, asshole, etc... and began to develop from there. My actual background for the story itself is a bit more complex of course.
I'm about 160 years old or so... Meaning I look around 32. My mom was a human, my dad is a Dark Elven Lord that doesn't even know I exist. I have a wife and a daughter - though in the story, as far as I know they're dead. There was a High Elven war against Dark Elves about 20 years before the beginning of the story, and that was when I got into trouble at first, being half dark elf. Got carted off to be executed, accidentally did some magic, which half-elves aren't supposed to be able to do (I'm the only one that can it seems) and was then enslaved to the bad guys, aka the black council. I can't really get away from them and I can't disobey them without serious concequences.
The story I think is still in it's planning stages for this version at least. Rhye knows where she wants it to go, but doesn't know how exactly to get it there. When all is said and done this world could end up having a 4 or 5 book set.
Who are you fond of/seeing at the moment? What can you tell us about them?
Adeste. ^_^ She's one of Lani's muses. She has a pet dragon, which is interesting since I'm scared to death of dragons. We seem to manage somehow anyway. ^^;; She's sweet, pretty, intelligent, kind... I love her. :)
Who is the one person you are afraid of more than anything?
.... Saiglen.... she would be the person that holds the geas that I have. I have to do what she says. I'm essentially her slave. I disobey and I tend to end up in extreme pain for a few days following. The only reason I'm not dead yet is because she needs me.
Besides that person, if anyone, are you afraid of anything else or have any other phobias?
Hah. Yeah. Dragons. The village I lived in was attacked by a dragon when I was young, and my mother was killed. I kinda saw it all happen and I"ve been terrified of them ever since.
What special abilities do you have? When did you first realize you had them?
Um... I have a bit of telepathy, though it's a magical type of telepathy, not something that I was born with. Of course, my magic is a special ability. I first found out I had that ability when I was 140. I'd just been sentenced to death by the bad guys and was a little unhappy about that and accidentally almost asphixiated one of them.
As an elf, I’m sure you get many questions about that. What are some of the most popular questions you get asked and the answers to them?
Hehe... Actually I don't get asked many questions, since the world I come from is fantasy. I don't tend to play in many other worlds, though I did play on studs for a little while. That was interesting. Most of the questions I got from people in that world were things like: "Why do your ears point?" and "What's with the sunglasses?"
Is there any sane place in Rhye’s muse dorm to relax?
Oh yeah. She has a rec room with pool tables and video games and such... There's a bar/club on the top floor. A pool...
What is your take on things as they stand at Athearia?
Hmm... You mean the actual place or the rpg? I'm going to assume you mean the rpg. I think that it could have been a lot of fun and very interesting if forces beyond Rhye's control had not started the poor place on it's spiral into deadness. I rather enjoyed interacting with new characters and such. I don't get to do it often since I was a story character and not an rp character to begin with.
If you had one wish granted, what would it be and why?
Only one? I wish my wife weren't dead. Because I would be happier living as a slave and knowing she's alright than being free and knowing she's not alive to share that freedom with me.
