If Kol is human I'm afraid I'm going to have to steal him away from this fic and keep him for myself. If Stefan kills Kol I will be very, very upset.

OMGYAYVERYHAPPYHAPPYHAPPY elijah in sweat pants. elijah in sweat pants I watched a teacher teach P.E in the rain + wind today wearing a suit and I thought of Elijah

Also, it's Finn who stabs Klaus in the hand with the dagger, not Kol.

ALL THE CAPS LOCKS! *dances*
how do you like my ~foreshadowing~ of them becoming human in the Elijah/Elena scene? XDDD
also: yes they kiss finally yay i wrote a kiss scene huzzah
and i sort of showed that they were, in fact, becoming human when klaus & care were racing through the forest and klaus isn't as fast as he used to be--even outran by care.

Oh, so Esther's spell isn't slowly killing them, it's slowly turning them human? Which is, I suppose dying, just really really slowly.

In canon, Esther's spell was supposed to turn them human first before she kills them. Your theory is on the right track, but I'll expand more on it the next chapter.

I have been bombarded by Elejah feels--next chapter shall be all about them and I refuse to apologize for it
I can totally live with this.

I love the time you keep through out this whole chapter. How you interconnected the Klaus/Caroline, Stefan/Rebekah, Elijah/Elena scenes in this chapter!!!!!! Oh my god, starting with the second one between Stefan and Caroline and just how they all seem to be so wrapped up with their love for these people who are about to die, and the carpe diem theme, and AUGH FEELINGS.

"Ahah!" Damon all but kicks the kitchen door open, pointing a triumphant finger at the vampires (and and doppelganger) sitting around the table. "Playing hookey, are we now?"
("Hookey?" Rebekah repeats blankly. "What is that? It sounds like the name of a call girl."
"You would know, Bek," Kol snickers.)
Elena raises an eyebrow. "Why are you here, Damon?"
I wanted to point this out 'cause I mentioned how you layered scenes in a review for Hoppipolia, and that is one of the things that made me fall in love with this fic.
