Are all car menders suicidally stupid?

When you have a broken motorbike, someone comes around with a truck and takes it away. I sort of assumed it was the same with cars.

Impressive. It seems like a failure of communication though, they have assumed that you couldn't drive the car, rather than that it shouldn't be driven. Perhaps you should consider changing garages?

It turned out to be broken suspension springs, which the bloke driving it didn't notice. Fortunately there was an outstanding "service measure" on them for this car, meaning they're known to be so dangerous that they get changed for free whenever the garage catches anyone still using them. So happy ending so far, though MOT tomorrow, which traditionally involves them breaking something else.
