Plant shopping is in all cases pointless unless you call or email a dozen nurseries ahead of time to find out which one actually has the plants you want. Searching the websites of the nurseries may give you some tips about which ones are worth calling, but you must never take the websites at face value, because when a nursery's website claims that the nursery carries a particular plant species, what this actually means is that there is approximately a 25% chance that the nursery carries that particular plant species.

Yes, I'm beginning to see that. For the week ahead, since that last nursery is near my work, I'm going to pack my book, the ASPCA list, and a new little chart I created with some likely nominees and stop by one evening after work. I bought an Aloe plant from them (which is listed as toxic for cats, but I keep it high and it isn't as easy to eat as other plants). I like the nursery, but didn't realize that this would be such a problem.

I always try Lowe's too. They seem to have a better selection of Lamps (and many hotties work there too). When I lived in another area, I always bought my plants from a small nursery. It was a bit more in price, but they always had what I wanted (which HD usually didn't), the plants were healthier, and the employees knew their stuff. :)

I have decided to just grab some weeds from downstairs and plant them in the dirt in between my floor boards. It'll be easier. :)
