Tone: irony

I'm getting TIRED of the relentless tone of  "irony" used by the blogs I read: everything is coded, left-handed, and for those in-the-know.  Pandagon is especially guilty of this, but it's endemic.

Irony is the rust, corrosion, and abrasive of communication.  If one wants to get a point across, just fucking say it.

IMO they only do that to try and show how clever, sophisticated and witty they are; It may well achieve that, however what it also shows is their insecurity and lack of humanist compassion toward other people. I agree, direct communication is the way forward!

p.s. it makes sense that most bloggers are probably egocentric anyway, otherwise they wouldn't be blogging, would they ;-)

Indeed. I seem to have been defriended from my most usual blog, but the Obama bashing (and Hillary-worship) had reached RIDICULOUS levels. And the revisionism was in full swing.

BUT, released from the need to be semi-polite, I can now take 'em to the woodshed for their ludicrous stances.
