Le das click derecho a Mi PC, seleccionas Administrar > Almacenamiento > Administrador de discos, click derecho sobre la unidad que quieras renombrar, seleccionas Cambiar la letra y rutas de acceso de unidad (cuidado, se sugiere no renombrar los discos duros internos; además, si se renombran los medios de almacenamiento extraibles pueden pasar cosas inesperadas, algunos shorcuts pueden dejar de funcionar).

Desafortunadamente, el lector DVD no es una unidad, así que no se puede renombrar siguiendo este procedimiento.

No exactamente, pero creo que por ahí va. Con estas instrucciones se cambia el nombre del drive pero no la letra asignada. Por ejemplo, mi DVD aparece en Mi PC como "Unidad DVD-RAM (F:)". Podría cambiarlo a "mi-DVD (F:)", pero seguiría siendo F. Voy a revisar qué se puede hacer con las llaves de registro, gracias por el tip :).

According to a site called "Tom's Hardware" (www.tomshardware.com/) you do it like this:

Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management ->Storage->Disk Management

Right click the partition you want, and change the drive letter.

Warning: if you installed something on that drive, you may have to reinstall it because of the drive letter change. Also, shortcuts that point to that drive will not work afterwards.

Yeah, be very careful when you do it so you don't mess up anything important. *G*.

That's how I renamed I, O and S :). Unfortunatelly, F (the DVD unit) does not appear on the Disk Management list :(. I think I'll try to think of (F:) as the face of someone bitting their lip. Maybe. With some imagination :P.
