The Big One

This is my big summer post. I haven't really posted anything of real significance since my back to back drunk posts. And that wasn't even like a "here's what I've been up to" update. So here we go.

To start out the summer, my family and I went on a little vacation. We went up to Sandusky and went to Cedar Point. My brothers and I went into the park on Friday night, and rode a lot of the big stuff that my mom and dad can't ride. My little brother Adam sucked it up and went on the huge coasters, even though he normally is a little shit and won't do it. Getting him on "The Mantis" was hilarious. Our parents told us we weren't allowed to force him on anything, and about 10 minutes from getting on the coaster he starts to chicken out. We talk him back into it. We're now like 3 cars away from getting on, and he pulls the "Mom and Dad said not to force me on anything". So we call them, tell them to go back to the hotel and back up our stuff, because we're making Adam go on the Mantis. When we actually got on the ride, he got into his harness, and when they came around to check it, they had to redo Adam's. Gave him the perfect oppurtunity to opt out, but he didn't. Like I said, he's a champ. I was too fat to go on "Millennium Force". That sucked, because they have "practice" seat belts out front, and I got into it just fine. I was majorly pissed. I got over it when I was able to make it onto "Top Thrill Dragster". "TTD" is really kinda fun, but if you blink, you'll miss it. Wasn't worth the wait, but it was really cool to just look around at all the shit underneath you. I only went on it so that my little brother Adam didn't show me up by going on it when I was a chicken shit.

I worked with a member of my church, helping him pretty much build his son's house. It sucked, they were paying for everything out of pocket, so the house was being built ass backwards and shit. It was really ridiculous. I know how to hammer nails into things, and how to use a drill and a circular saw and everything, but I don't know everything. I don't know what a fucking catspaw is. And when your boss is yelling at anyone within earshot that he can't find his catspaw. None of us knew what the hell a catspaw is, so we ask him was it looks like, and all he says is "it's a catspaw, where the fuck did you guys put it". So, we all search for it, even though we don't know what it looks like. While roofing, we found out that they framed the house wrong, so I had to take like 3 days to fix it. Which also sucked. Roofing wasn't too bad, as long as I wasn't noticing how high I really was. So, while on the low part, I couldn't see the ground, and was good. Once I got to the peak, and could see over the house, my chest would start clenching up and my heart would beat really fast. Scary shit. After Chris, Brad, Adam, and Matt left the actual Landscaping Business, I got traded over to the mowing crew. Zero-turn lawnmowers are the shit. I got pretty good at trimming, and we had some badass trimmers, so that was cool, too. Also, even though the other guys were more experienced in the whole mowing thing when they left, I was told that I was a shit ton better than they were. Now granted, Matt got fired for coming to work high, and not listening to the boss, and he really slowed down the whole mowing crew, it still was nice.

The one perk about not working at King's Island this summer that I liked the most was the free time. No longer was my house my temporary resting point at night when I wasn't working at King's Island, I was actually there for long periods of time. I ate dinner with my family about 6.5 times a week. That was pretty cool. I hadn't done that since I had left for college. I think it made my mom a lot happier, considering she knows that Chris and I may never be home more than just "visiting" anymore. She'll never admit that, she lives in denial. Anyways, I was able to take my little brothers to the movies. We went and saw "Superman Returns" on opening night, and didn't get served at Johnny Rockets, ended up driving to Steak 'n Shake and eating there. I was also able to go to the drive in with Steve and Teddy to see "Click" and "X-Men: The Last Stand". Steve and I also had a date and went and saw "Miami Vice". It was pretty badass. Jamie Foxx totally kicked ass.

Another perk was being able to visit Jen more than in other summers. She came down a couple of times, and I went up to see her a couple of times. We went to the Ohio State Fair and spent far too much money on Fair food and Fair rides. The Freak Show, that was way worth. I saw a woman without a head. Effin' sweet, I know. And the little chick. She was like 27" tall. I wish I had an awesome story like "The 10 Inch Man" (only a few of you should get that, so don't worry if you don't), but alas I don't. We went on the Ferris Wheel, too. There was a cute little boy with his dad in the gondola with us. A swear to God, he looked just like me when I was little. That doesn't take much, just blonde hair and blue eyes. Also at the Fair was my high school band. I didn't know, so I didn't see them march, but I did see Gus. And that's all that matters. And there was that Picnic thing where there was delicious Indian Food. And fireworks at the Farm. It was good to be able to see her more this summer. I wasn't like going crazy because I hadn't seen her for like 7 weeks. And I was able to talk to her almost every night, even if it would be for a few minutes. Better than every couple of nights or like every week or so. It was a good summer for me and Jen.

The other big event for the summer (and for every summer that's ever come before this summer) was St. Simon's Festival. Of course, I was a bad ass again, working set-up all week before the weekend, working all weekend dealing cards, and the awesome clean-up day. Like every year, I would help out after work the week before the festival. 14 hour days suck, but it's for God, so I guess it's ok. The Festival itself wasn't so bad. In total, I made about 150 bucks in tips, which I put all back into the festival. I won absolutely nothing, but I did get Jen a pretty pink Tourmaline ring in the silent auction. Libby and Sabrina approved the ring, and I think they are still convinced that it was an engagement ring. Both of them still love me though, so it's ok. Also, on Saturday, there was a disaster that struck. The power went out to the Monte Carlo, and everyone had to go try and solve the problem. Awesomely, I was put in charge of the Monte Carlo for a couple of hours, which made me feel important. There were also a lot of "grown ups" around that also could have been given that job, but I got to do it. It's pretty awesome. What wasn't awesome was someone stole like a grand from us on Friday night. That sucked. We're making a cage for the money room next year. No questions, the damned gamblers will just have to wait single file while one person counts them out.

Right before Oak Hills started up, my dad got a job in North Carolina, and that had him out of town for the first couple of football games. So, in support of my little brothers, I went to every football game up to the point when I left for school. I was even on the "Oak Hills Football Photo Crew" for the games. I even went to the JV games where Brad was a starter. I even went to Chris' games. Jen came to one too. Chris had a monster hit in that one, and it was effin' awesome. I've been to Adam's games, and for being in his first year, he's doing pretty good. He plays linebacker and sometimes free safety.

I moved into the house up in Columbus. It was messy when I moved in, but it only took a couple of days to whip it into liveableness. I'm living up on the 3rd floor. It's hot when it's hot outside and cold when it's cold outside. We're still working on a chore schedule, and the landlore wasn't the best guy before, but we've worked a lot of things out, and things are doing much better.

Classes are going well. I'm into the Math major now, and it makes me much better. I feel so much better in these classes then when I was in Mechanical Engineering. I'm taking a class that's entirely about proofs, which could seem like the debil to some people, but I recently had a dream where I was solving proofs, and it wasn't a nightmare. I know, it's exciting. Also, I got a job on campus. I'm a parking garage attendant at the various garages around campus. It's a pretty sweet job, except for the game day parking. I have to be there sometime between 4:30 and 5:30 in the morning, depending on what time the game starts. It's cold, and if you get there late, they put you out in the crappy lots on West Campus.

That about sums up my life since last school year.

I also have my schedule for next quarter, in case anyone just wants to look at that.

Also, I really like that icon. And it totally beat B's icon. And that's all I have to say about that.

bitches.
