I watched Latter Days and thought it was overly emotional, trying WAY too hard, and at times very poorly acted. With the exception of the hotel scene (not because they get naked! shush!), where I thought production values, cinematography, writing, and acting all kicked up a notch for one scene, randomly. BUT, maybe I was expecting too much because my bf thought it was pretty good when he finally saw it last last year, and he and I usually agree on movie-taste. I prolly should watch it again, but for the moment I'm sticking by my stance of not liking it!
My mom had long hair in the 70s too. I think it was, like, a requirement or something. ;P
I think you were expecting more than what it was. I did the same, but eventually decided to accept it for what it is. Like that whole poor acting parts, I didn't expect that. But now that I look at it, I like the way they kept that.
I'll find a picture of my Dad at that time. The 'Fro gave it away. And then another of them around the age of 11. It's scary sometimes to see them at that age because of how old they were when you met them. Ya know?
I do to. I wish I knew who actually took the picture. Thought, I think it was an aunt of mine. That, or I wish I knew who else was in the photo other than my grandmother in the red veil.
