A word on my own strange style of shipping:

I don't ship sexually. I'm asexual myself and just don't feel comfortable when I read or write smut unless it fits in with the relationship/context. It's not that I think that these characters are asexual, I just can't associate these relationships with sex, unless it fits.

In my fics every pairing's sexless in a sense, unless I feel that sex is simply part of their dynamic. For example in Madness Is The Emergency Exit, the brother's relationship/lives are so physical it just wouldn't have made sense to me if there wasn't a physical aspect of their relationship as well. I completely understand that for most relationships, sex is an important way of showing one's love for another.

This doesn't mean that I won't write smut or that I hate writing it. There are also instances, particularly when I wrote for prompts in the X-Men: First Class fandom, where I felt obliged to do so or the prompt was for pwp. In these cases I still enjoyed writing the scenes, I just wouldn't normally do so.

I won't, however, tag my fics as 'asexual x' as most of the time I don't think the characters are actually asexual. I'll only ever put this tag on Sherlock fics as I know Sherlock to be asexual and I believe that his and John's relationship would not be troubled by this, rather John would in a sense be asexual too.

tl;dr: If my fics have a distinct lack of sex, it's because I ship asexually.

Hope this made sense. If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)
