Since I am the smartest person in the world, I could answer them (comprehensibly).

Oh professor, it takes a lot more than attempted public humiliation to crumble my empire of shit. A lot more, indeed.

when that happens to me, i take a different approach. I take the opportunity to make a statement about how bored I am with his teaching.

I did that once (different class) and replied with smart ass comments... and the professor made me leave and counted me as absent. Makes me a little nervous to do that again.
