I don't consider myself to be a believer of God, but i do believe that there are a lot of wonderful teachings in the bible. I also think that sometimes organized religion can muddle these teachings and make them something other then what they were meant to be ( Read more... )

I think it is up to the kids (whether they may realize it or not) if they should be told what is a truth to you versus something you may not believe in. It comes down to an individual basis of what a person can handle learning, what prejudices they have, and who else might have influenced them.

thats like saying its ok for bad teachers to keep on teaching in schools.
what im trying to convey is that i dont mind these kids believing in god, hell, i understand that some people need to in life. i just dont want to be screwing that up for them because i dont.

i guess it all boils down to: do you think i can hide this part of myself away from these kids for the 5 days or so that i am there?

haha, im gonna do it cause i like hanging out with the kids. i like teaching, but id never hack it as a full time job. these kinds of opportunities are what im left with.
oh, and i used to go there when i was a kid so im returning the favor of the counselors that had to put up with my shitty behavior.
